Thank you to everyone who completed the survey for Pitman residents regarding the GCL (Glassboro Camden Line). Here is some information from the results:
*567 Pitman residents responded to the survey
*Getting to Work*
~146 Pitman residents work in a location accessible by the proposed rail line
~420 Pitman residents do not
Of those 146 who indicated that they do work in a location accessible by the rail line
~73 residents plan to take the train to work
~37 might take the train to work
*Entertainment, Shopping, Social*
~304 residents indicated that they will not use the train for social or entertainment purposes,
~169 residents said they will use the train for social or entertainment purposes,
~79 residents might use the train for social or entertainment purposes.
On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being strongly against and 10 being strongly in favor of the train), the average Pitman resident’s response was 4.1
The below graphics demonstrate the most commonly words used in the comments as large and the least commonly used words as small. The “thumbs up” took words from the comments of those who scored the train 6-10 and the “thumbs down” took words from the comments of those who scored the train 1-5
