The Pitman Dems will not post a Feel Good Friday message today. We can’t.
Instead, we should focus ourselves on a very different pandemic gripping our nation. In response to the continued racism against black and brown citizens in our country, we think that it is more fitting to use today remembering those whose lives that have been needlessly lost, and to contemplate what we can do as citizens and neighbors to take a stand against racism. Councilman Weng, in his post earlier today, suggested one way that you can help as individuals & families is by making a donation to the NAACP Empowerment programs. Here are two other links with suggestions regarding actions that you can take to become an ally. https://medium.com/…/what-white-people-can-do-for-racial-ju… https://docs.google.com/…/1BRlF2_zhNe86SGgHa6-…/mobilebasic… As a party, as your elected representatives, and as your neighbors, we adamantly condemn racism in all its forms and will do whatever we can to see its end. Up first, Councilman Adam Mazzola! #WhatsUpWednesday This week, for Feel Good Friday, we want to shine a HUGE spotlight on Pitman’s Porch Photographers! Kacey Crawford, Bruce Lovelace, Jeff Mazzola and Michael Sutton have been spending their free time photographing Pitman Families from a safe social distance and sharing those family pictures for free. Their efforts to spread kindness have not gone unnoticed as they received numerous nominations from their friends and neighbors for this Feel Good Friday. Thank you so much Pitman Porch Photographers! Please continue to nominate your friends, family and neighbors who deserve to be recognized for spreading kindness in our town. You can offer your nominations in the comments below, or send an e-mail to vanessa21james@gmail.com. Help us celebrate these neighborhood helpers! #FeelGoodFriday #SpreadKindess #PitmanStrong #NJThanksYou Mr. Rogers once said, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’” In Pitman, we are grateful to live in a community filled with “Helpers”, and we think these men, women, and children deserve to be recognized. To that end, the Pitman Dems are introducing FEEL GOOD FRIDAY! We’re asking everyone to please nominate their friends, family, and neighbors who deserve to be recognized for spreading kindness in our town. You can offer your nominations in the comments below, or send an e-mail to vanessa21james@gmail.com. Then, every Friday, the Pitman Dems will highlight someone in our community for their kindness, thoughtfulness, and otherwise good-neighborly deeds. Help us celebrate these neighborhood helpers! #FeelGoodFriday #SpreadKindess #PitmanStrong #NJThanksYou |
